Tour Snapshot
The Hornbill Festival in Arunachal Pradesh is a vibrant cultural festival celebrated by the indigenous tribes of the state. Often confused with Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival, Arunachal Pradesh hosts its own version to showcase the rich traditions, music, dance, and heritage of its diverse tribal communities. Held annually in December at various locations, including Itanagar, the festival features traditional performances, handicraft exhibitions, indigenous cuisine, and adventure sports. Named after the great Indian hornbill, a bird significant in tribal folklore, the festival serves as a platform to promote tourism, preserve tribal culture, and bring together different ethnic groups in a grand celebration of Arunachal’s heritage.
